Bitcoin Education

The country of El Salvador wants to teach Bitcoin education to kids. El Salvador has been in the headlines ever since it took the huge step to adopt a Bitcoin-based monetary standard.

Critics Didn’t Like It

Initially, President Nayib Bukele’s government faced lots of backlash from critics who viewed his decision to adopt Bitcoin as a terrible idea that could destroy the country’s economy. Looking at the situation now, it’s pretty clear that this was actually a great idea.

El Salvador has followed up on the success of its BTC adoption with efforts to support Bitcoin mining in the country as well as wooing thousands of Bitcoin lovers to migrate to the country.

Bitcoin Education In El Salvador

Now, the government has announced further plans to start a Bitcoin education program targeting children in public schools across the country. This is meant to introduce Bitcoin to kids early enough to spur future innovation and also achieve total acceptance. Before adopting Bitcoin, El Salvador’s economy was pretty much in the gutter and inflation was making everything worse. The move has also led to a notable decrease in crime rates in the country.

When El Salvador made the big leap to adopt Bitcoin as a nation, the prospects of this spreading to other nations looked bleak. That’s not the case anymore. A good number of other countries have caught on well and made arrangements to get a piece of the cake. For example, Oman is investing half a billion dollars in a national Bitcoin mining rig. Institutional funds like Grayscale and BlackRock are also looking for an entry point via a Bitcoin ETF.

As such, it’s apparent that El Salvador is only trying to stay a step ahead with its Bitcoin education program. If the global trend continues to favor Bitcoin as a has done so far, it can be expected that other nations may follow in the same footsteps as El Salvador.
