Biden Brings Back Former Pro-crypto Regulation Advisor

Bitcoin and crypto regulation is taking center-stage and could potentially dominate the upcoming US elections. Many voters who are into Bitcoin and cryptos are showing signs of willing to vote along the lines of who best can manage crypto regulations in the country.

In this respect, incumbent president Biden’s latest move to rehire a former cyber security expert and crypto advisor could be seen as an attempt at positioning himself to better appeal to voters. The advisor in question is Carole House, who formerly served as a member of the US National Security Council under president Joe Biden. Her return to the administration happens just as Biden and Trump are preparing to face-off in the first presidential debate of the 2024 elections. The debate is slated for Thursday, June 27th.

Carole House is credited as the co-author of the executive order issued by president Biden back in 2022 regarding the responsible development of digital assets. Just recently, Carol House expressed her displeasure at the inadequate framework on crypto regulation for the crypto industry in the United States. She criticized the US SEC for its lack of proper guidelines for the industry. Granted, the US SEC has been embroiled in a number of crypto-related lawsuits targeting various entities in the industry, among Grayscale, Binance, Coinbase, and even Ripple. Many have opined that the regulatory body is out conduct witch-hunts in order to suppress the crypto industry.

Perhaps one of the reasons for House’s return to the Biden administration could be connected to the ongoing presidential campaigns and the Republican move to include Bitcoin and crypto regulation issues as an election issue. Many of the politicians who used to bash and reject cryptos are now pro-BTC and crypto. Just recently, Anthony Scaramucci claimed that Trump is supporting Bitcoin just so her can garner votes from Bitcoiners.
